Last 4th of December, the headquarters of the Foment del Treball in Barcelona fostered the Economic Forum Spain-Senegal (FORECSEC), where business and investment opportunities in Senegal were presented to the Spanish business community. The event, co-organized by Nexus Fostering Partnership together with the Embassy of Senegal in Spain, counted with the presence of strong Senegalese governmental representation such as the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Honorable Mr. Diene Farba Sarr and the Ministry of Investment Promotions, Honorable Mrs. Khoudia Mbaye. The Senegalese delegation also included other important authority figures such as the Director of the Agency of Promotion of Investments and Construction Projects.
The main purpose of the forum was to promote new commercial investment and bilateral cooperation opportunities, and some of the topics covered included Senegal’s current economic context which according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance is predicted to grow up to 5% during the following year. Furthermore, the Senegal Emerging Plan (PSE) was presented, which includes 126 projects to develop during 2014-2018 and is backed up by a solid financial compromise of over 9,000 million euros allocated for sectors such as Infrastructures, Logistics, Energy, Transport, Agro-business, ICT, Fishing and Mining, amongst others.
